Upgrade to Windows 7 Because.. It Sucks Less?
      by Wyatt WalterWell, after a busy couple of months I’m finally back. I did miss the release of Windows 7 on my blog, but I definitely enjoyed watching the fireworks between Apple and Microsoft through their commercials on tv. Microsoft has definitely come out with a product that the public seems to like (which ultimately is all that matters). One of the commercials, however, caught me a bit off guard.
In the commercial, ‘Angela’ says: “I don’t want to worry about my computer freezing or crashing … and suddenly, Windows 7″. Uh, what? Did we just hear an admission from Microsoft that Vista had problems? I hate to add to my anti-Microsoft list of blog posts, but seriously, what are they thinking with this ad? They should’ve just said: “Upgrade to Windows 7, it sucks less than previous versions”. Definitely not the positive spin on Windows that I was expecting.. With a product out the door that the company can definitely be proud of, I expected them to tout some cool new features, but that’s not the stance we’ve seen from previous versions.

I just can’t help myself….

“Best Windows version.. EVER”
But in all honesty, I’ve been using Windows 7 for a bit and have to say it is a great improvement over Vista. Many things are much better, especially with resource usage. But many of the issues, in my opinion, are because they are the Windows way of doing things.
Cheers,
Dusty

What’s worse purchasing Windows 7 Starter “Cripple” Edition or experiencing buggy Windows 7,000 hidden flaws which Microsoft conceals as often as possible?

-> 1 CPU Supported Only (Must use crappy PC)
-> Cannot Create a Home Group (Don’t Share)
-> Cannot Backup to Network (No network back)
-> No Multiple Monitor Support
-> No Fast user switching
-> No Changeable Desktop Wallpaper
-> No Desktop Window Manager
-> No Windows Mobility Center
-> No Windows Aero Glass Themes
-> No Aero glass remoting
-> No Multitouch
-> No Premium Games Included
-> No Windows Media Center
-> No Windows Media Player Remote Media Experience
-> No Encrypting File System

Microsoft builds in all these restrictions, then plans to charge you big money to remove them. Is this the type of “Features” you want to purchase?

Windows 7, heck Windows in general, is and will continue to be a great operating system. What other company besides Microsoft lets you easily create applications for free. Sure, you can’t sell your Visual Studio 2008 Express apps but you sure can give them away for free.
Neither MAC or Linux can provide really easy application development like Microsoft can for Windows.
Windows will continue to dominate because it simply provides more.
