Windows XP Lives to Die Another Day

Microsoft has decided to extend the cut-off date for downgrades from Windows Vista yet again. Consumers can now purchase downgrades from OEM’s until July 31, 2009, bumped up from January 31, 2009. This is one of several times Microsoft has extended the date due to outcry from consumers over compatibility issues in Vista, despite Microsoft’s recent pro-Vista ad campaign. In the “Mojave experiment” campaign, Microsoft had filmed people who were told they were previewing a new Windows but it was really Vista. Misconception or not, Microsoft has taken a beating from the media and the blogosphere over usability and compatibility issues and XP’s death sentence has been extended once again.
